Devconnect Argentina 2025: HollaEx® Recap

Devconnect turned Buenos Aires into an Ethereum world’s fair, and this year felt especially aligned with what we care about at HollaEx®: real-world finance, usable infra, and giving builders everything they need to spin up their own crypto businesses.

From day one the tone was set. Vitalik’s meme-worthy outfit and oversized shades were a reminder that Ethereum culture stays playful even while the stakes get higher. The community also showed its better side: when Thiru.eth’s “I’m in Argentina” X tweet was met with racism, crypto Twitter pushed back hard, turning an ugly moment into a massive wave of support and welcome. That same spirit carried through the entire week.

The big macro news was Devcon 8 heading to Mumbai in Q4 2026, a clear signal that Ethereum is doubling down on real-world, high-usage markets. For HollaEx® operators, that’s exactly where white-label exchanges, local on/off-ramps, and custom token markets matter most, and tokenization matters even more.

On the ground at La Rural, the quality of events was obvious with questions such as:

  • How do we make stablecoins and tokens usable for normal people, not just degen traders?
  • How do we connect local banks, payment rails, and exchanges without giving up control or wallet custody?

Vitalik making it clear that Ethereum should remain innovative even when the stakes are high.

Around side events like DeFi Connect, WalletCon, Bankless Summit, and a dozen smaller meetups, our conversations were less about “launching the next memecoin” and more about the boring, important stuff:

  • Launching an actual crypto business that regualr people can use
  • Handling business use cases such as more B2B local currencies using stablecoins
  • Keeping KYC and compliance actually sane
  • Considration around self-custody paths, while maintaining ease of use non-custody
  • Sharing liquidity across trusted partners instead of each team reinventing the orderbook
  • How DeFi liquidity pools can enhance the centralized exchange experience (staking options, etc.)

Argentina, with its inflation, parallel FX markets, and deep stablecoin penetration, is and was the perfect stress-test for what crypto was built for and what HollaEx is about. Talking with teams here it resonates with us that the future is: better tooling for multi-fiat orderbooks, easier white-label wallet integration, and smoother flows for operators who want to offer both CEX-style with some DeFi backend connected features but all from the same HollaEx® stack.

ETH eco-system has grown into reliable source for future back-end of the financial system.

Devconnect 2025 was a reminder of why infrastructure matters. The use cases, the football matches, panels and after parties were fun... but the real story was simple... more builders than ever are trying to connect Ethereum, even it if it messy and economiest can't work it, there order to an obvious order to the chaos of a decentralized system.

We’re heading home from Buenos Aires inspired, with a clear vision of what future HollaEx® operators will need in Argentina, India, and everywhere in between. On to the next "cycle"!
