🆕 Minting and Burning Coins: What It Means on a Crypto Exchange
What does it mean to mint and burn coins? What does it mean when you operate a crypto exchange exchange business, & what are the use cases
HollaEx® v2.16 is released, code name Maekju! We’re excited to announce the new features that are now available to all exchange operators using the crypto white-label software.
This update allows exchange business operators to more easily locate any features and tools on their crypto platform by using the new Operator Controls Search. We’ve also added easier ways to register and login with Google, amongst other features below:

The first major feature is the ability for users to sign up and log in using their Google account. To enable this, the administrator must go to Operator Controls → General → Security and switch on Google OAuth. After enabling, the admin needs to enter the Client ID, which can be obtained from the Google Cloud Console.
Once set up, a “Sign Up with Google” option will appear during onboarding. Users choosing this method can log in instantly with their Google credentials, as long as they’re already signed into Google. This removes the need to re-enter email and password each time, making login faster and more convenient.
After years of development, the HollaEx® white-label exchange has amassed quite an arsenal of features. So many in fact that navigating them has, in recent times, become a bit unwieldy for operators. In the past, finding a less commonly used feature meant clicking through multiple pages and scrolling endlessly, hoping to stumble upon the right section.
That’s no longer the case with the new Operator Control Search.
When looking for specific features the admin can simply type any commonly used keywords like “fees” or “stake” and the relevant category, page, and section will instantly be highlighted in orange.
A single click then takes the admin straight to the exact page and section, automatically scrolling down to the specific item and even highlighting it for easy reference.
In addition to the easy searching, is the added linking to more information on certain features. For example, the admin can now hover over a certain feature and a tool tip will be displayed with a brief description of the feature/page/section in question and if the feature is a significant feature will provide a “Read more” link to HollaEx’s official documentation page for further information on said feature.
It’s worth noting that when searching for user-specific features, such as freezing an account, the search will direct admins to User 1 by default. This is provided purely as a frame of reference so that admins can see the correct page layout and available functions. In practice, the admin will need to navigate to the actual user they wish to manage, but the layout and options remain identical across all user pages.
Confirmation emails for sensitive actions no longer rely on links. Instead, users now get a secure one-time code to enter directly into the exchange.
This improves both security and user flow. Bots can’t auto-click a link anymore, which means a human has to be involved in every confirmation step. And because users stay in the app or browser they’re already using, there’s no more awkward jumping between email, app, and web.
The update will roll out gradually on the client side, bringing a smoother, safer experience for everyone.
Along with the new email security code step, we’ve introduced a user-activated way to secure an account that may be compromised. If the user feels something is off, such as receiving a login alert that they themself didn’t trigger, the user can now freeze their account instantly by clicking a link in that same email.
This action immediately halts withdrawals and locks activity. It’s a safeguard that gives peace of mind in those edge cases where security might be at risk. Instead of scrambling to contact support, users can take direct action themselves.
When the user is ready to unfreeze the account, the user is required to contact the exchange operator.
Get the next update and experience smoother exchange operations.
